Which is worst? A cheater? a liar? or a rat?

Landis has now been all three. At least he saved the best (worst?) for last.

No one likes a rat

I'm so glad I met him at D&Q and bought his book as a way to help him defend his "honor" against all those meanies at the Tour. At least I can now use the pages of his book and save money on toilet paper!

Thanks Floyd!

Honestly, I think it's ****ing hilarious that anybody believed in Landis' innocence back then. I didn't even know such people existed before coming to bikeforums.net, it's that absurd to me.

But he is doing the right thing at last.

He paid the price for the lies. I am glad to see he has the guts to come clean. Lets see if others have the same courage.

That's not fair. He would only be a rat if it were true. I'm sure all the riders who went to his power camps are really happy they gave him $2500 each not realizing it was BYOPED (Bring Your Own Performance Enhancing Drugs).

Would you rather have the sport of professional cycling cleaned up, even if the catalyst is a scoundrel? Or, would you prefer continuing to hang on to a lie and fraud and deceit?

I know which of those two choices I prefer, because I am no SUCKER.

I don't think you can really say it's a thing of the past as long as people like McQuaid still have power, as long as many cyclists from that era still ride today (hell, ****ing Valverde was only banned a couple months ago for the same thing that took down Ullrich) and as long as the cards haven't really ever been put on the table.
Are Schleck and Contador clean? I want to believe but my head is telling my heart I'm fool for that. Cycling hasn't changed. Landis' allegations are very much relevant today.

And another thing. That whole crowd at UCI should be flushed down the toilet, as far as I am concerned. The Sport will never be clean as long as Patrick McQuaid and his minions are in charge at the UCI.

I mean, a regulator who saw no conflict from taking bribes/donation from an athlete his organisation is supposed to regulate, is at the least, incompetent.

Personally I give Landis credit for coming clean. He's faced a tremendous amount of adversity from fans as well as his peers, so it's not something that is easy for him to do.

I'll think about believing Landis when Lance or anyone else that he accuses of cheating comes up hot on a P test. Until then innocent until proven guilty in my book.

If he's a liar, isn't also a cheater? But I don't think he's a rat. So Floyd definitely has him beat.

A rat is actually better, because a rat is exposing the truth- which is a good thing... get it? The turth is a good thing right, last time i checked? Or since LA is a liar, lieing is now a good thing?

In the immortal words of the great yet fictional Ari Gold, "I love a liar, but I hate a cheater." If Landis is telling the truth, he'll still be that jerk who cheater, came clean, and took everyone down with him. Just look to baseball -- Jose Canseco's steroid use accusations are looking more and more credible as time goes by, even though everyone still considers him a meathead d-bag who cheated to hit some homers. Even if he's doing it out of pure self interest, it serves a purpose within the sport.

You want a clean bike world?? Pick a better champion for the cause.

Landis isnt the first to come "clean" and hes certainley no champion of the anti doping world. If you think Landis is gonna bring the biking world closer to drug free you are fooling yourself. He sucked up a million in donations knowing he was guilty all along. Landis isnt championing a drug free bike world, hes looking to make a quick buck off a hot story. My guess is he is broke and hes cleaning up on engagement and interview fee's. He will probably "write" a book now. *puke puke*

This is pure opportunistic and sensationalist bull***t. Timed to gain Landis as much money as he can get his ugly face in.

So yeah i could care less about what Landis has to say regardless of the truth he is or isnt spewing. He isnt seeking a cleaner bike world. Hes seeking a payday because hes a big baby who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

So screw him and his sudden self righteous BS.

Landis has changed his story a few too-many times for me to believe he's very credible.

Most likely what is gonna happen is that other relevant people are gonna be used by the Feds to corroborate Landis' story. The Feds are no fools, as they know Landis can be an embarrassment to their case before a jury. This is the way the Feds work.

I was watching Nightline last night, and I heard a soigneur say that while she never saw drug use, she was asked on at least one occasion to dispose of syringes. It is gonna be people like this that are gonna be used to build a bullet-proof case. And I am also gonna go on record and venture that some of the US Postal team members are gonna cut deals. It is just the way these things tend to work.

Exactly. His "truth" is whatever gets him facetime in the game again. He has no real truth. Didn't a former juicer come back and win a stage this year? I guess Floyd wouldn't want to do that...that would take guts, hard work, and determination. Instead he'd rather drink the Lemond kool-aid and embarass himself further. Funny thing is that with Lance truely retired now competitive cycling in the US drops down to compete with the curling channel.

Yea, "fix" things. That's really what he's doing.

He can start by explaining what he took in 2006 on stage 17.
