I was thinking about taking Moncoutie for the KOM points, but didn't do it. Damn.

Moncoutie has had a pretty rough year, I would have never had him on my team. Definitely was a surprise.

I think having Louis Leon Sanchez and Bradley Wiggins I should be able to hold onto my 1st for another day!

Yippee! With Moncoutiť, I rocketed from 13th right up to 12th! Seems most of you people, especially the ones right in front of me, have Wiggo on your teams.

Small steps...

I can't believe Rodriguez only got seven seconds with that attack. Nevertheless, that's why him and Contador are my favorite riders to watch in the mountains. Put it in the big ring and HAMMER like there's no tomorrow.

There's a frustratingly variable relationship between the guys I like to watch and root for and the folks that will score me points.

I just have to say, in my "fantasy," I'm doing much better in this fantasy league.

Haha, agreed. I tend to pick the guys that I WANT to win, not the guys I think will win. The truth is, a smart Grand Tour rider is usually boring as hell to watch because it's more about consistency and not NEEDING to attack or come from behind to make up time and win. It's more fun to watch the underdog win, but there's a reason they're the underdog to begin with.

Man they are slow on updates for the Vuelta this year. I want to see how bad I'm beating everyone while I'm still in the lead!

I'll just have to sit here eating Oreo's in support of my team!

Is it my imagination or are the Vuelta updates like 3 days behind? I swear I have had the same score for 3 days and I have Sagan so I know it should have changed a little.

Over on the nrtoone game I used Nibali's joker for stage 14. Talk about a dumb move.

At least you picked Sagan.

It seems the joker is the true art of nrtoone. I jokered Purito on stage 8 and I think I got 100 (25 for stage, 25 for 1st day in red, x2 for joker). If it wasn't for that luck, I'd be competing for the lantern rouge.

I didn't help myself out much with many other picks over there. Or here.

No Cobo for me but (sarcasm on) I have Anton, Janez B., Scarponi, and Purito to pull me towards the top (sarcasm off).

Cobo is the Jelle Vanendert of this year's Vuelta. There's always that guy; the guy nobody knows about that scores tons of points and (WOULD HAVE) cost you nothing...

Wow just checked nrtoone. I moved up to #58 but I also have wiggins on that team. Menchov and Anton owe it to their fans to at least get a stage win haha

You do realize that, to keep it fair, the league winner gets a handicap for next year's Giro. It's deep in the rules somewhere. There are some special rider classifications for any league winner in a group of 15 or more that layer on top of that sprinter/climber/GC/domestique thing. It used to be that you could only pick Scandinavians, but after last year with Thor and BoHog, I think for 2012 you may be limited to Jewish riders and Italians whose names don't end in a vowel.

...oh, and next year's Thursday stages--when the Ukranians win and get a Royal Fizzbin. Don't get me started.

Cobo cost 14 points, so not exactly nothing, but that certainly is true of Froome. I don't have Froome or Cobo; instead I have Rodriguez (dropping like a rock; may abandon), Anton (never rose at all), Wiggins (dropping), and Nibali (dropping like a rock), so while I'm currently in 2nd in the mini-league, I anticipate dropping like a rock with the rest of my team.

Ah, good point. I didn't realize he was that expensive. How much was Moreno? (I can't find the page that shows how much each rider cost)

Froome was 4.

http://www.velogames.com/vae11riders.php

I did a points per velo$ thing after the TdeF just to kick myself. Will probably do again at the end here, assuming I have another boring conference call to sit through and do some mindless work during.
