I traded out Sagan for FRIGGIN LEVI LEIPHEIMER at the last minute, which "allowed" me to also get Tom Danielson, who pulled out. GAHHHH.
On a brighter note, I also have Wiggins, Cadel, and Froome. Went up ten places today in the league.

I'm going to consider myself lucky that none of my guys have abandoned yet. The big problem with my team is that I don't have a 2nd GC guy behind Wiggins.

Ryder out and Martin one handed aren't helping my team.

I wish I could score points on the rest day for my guys that are leading the way out of the race. Though with only two down myself, I might need to be careful what I ask for as some of you would put some pretty big digs into the pack given the carnage that we've experienced.

Ouch I've fallen hard in the second part of the first week. Even with 4 of the top 5 yesterday, I am still not sitting in a great position. Having Tommy D and Renshaw are killing me.

Renshaw is now dead to me for the rest of his career. So much for going broke saving money with his useless 6 point bargain non-performing self. At least Tyler is still in the race! Ha ha.
I think Fabu had some nerve knocking up Stefanie in November since he knew he had a prior commitment on my roster in July. What was he thinking? Couldn't he have paced himself a little better? Oh well, I can't stay mad at him for too long after he got me 700 points for 8 velo$.
I'm now down to 4 still in the race. Evans, Wiggins, Sagan and the great white hope Chris Anker Sorensen.

Had I known Hoogerland was involved in a lawsuit where compensation for lost performance was part of the suit, I sure wouldn't have purchased him. I'm empathetic for the pain & suffering, but I sure hope tomorrow is his day to break away and score at least one point.

Happy with my podium spot, third, considering the barnacles of Levi and Tommy D on my team.
Just for fun, I tried to figure out what the best team would have been in hindsight.
This team would have fetched you 8,046 points, only 231 more than the guy with the most points on VeloGames.
All-Rounder
Peter Sagan
Brad Wiggins
Sprinter
Andre Greipel
Climbers
Thibaut Pinot
Tejay Van Garderen
Unclassified
Luis Leon Sanchez
Chris Froome
Fabian Cancellara
Wildcard
Vincenzo Nibali
Always makes you feel like an idiot when you see a team like that after the fact... Doesn't it?

After finishing near the bottom last year, I managed to conquer the BF mini-league. I grabbed Froome on the cheap in case Wiggo crashed out. Good pick. Also, with Fabian and Wiggo and Sagan, I was in yellow every day and green for most. It makes up for Hoogerland who scored me 10 total points. Anyway, this was fun. Should be even better next year with Contador and Andy back in and Cav going for green again. Can't wait.

Ouch, missed the podium by 5 points! Oh well, happy with my 4th place considering I had half the team that had abandoned by the end. See you guys at the Vuelta!

Not a good Tour for me. Wiggins & Sagan were good picks, but way too obvious to take any credit for. Greipel did better than expected, but Cav wasn't quite good enough to justify his cost, so that all evened out. The rest of my picks were simply terrible. Tony Martin's injuries were a big let-down for me and Moncoutie did absolutely nothing. Bauke Mollema had a good Vuelta last year, but in his place I could have had Van Den Broeck, Van Garderen, or someone else who had a good Tour this year.
Time to take a week off, then start training for the Vuelta.

Well done to the MANY of you who spanked me in this league.
I actually spent some time perseverating and pondering my team selection for Velogames. Then I just threw some stuff together for nrtoone and slapped up an entry in the NBC league. Net results for Mamba Point Velo:
My key takeaway -- the more I think about it, the worse I do. For the Vuelta, I'm trying to figure out a way to actually enter a team into the league without giving it any conscious thought at all, then I'm a lock for the brass ring.

- Velogames -- 5068 / ~15,000. 20th in league of 42. Top third.
- nrtoone -- 44 / 1047. Top 5%.
- NBC -- 303 / ~16,000+. 2nd in league of 20. Top 2%,
