Open letter from Greg LeMond to UCI

An interesting read. Greg has never been afraid to say what's on his mind.

Well he didn't hold back did he.

Its like the Cycling Australia saying they never knew of Lance doping. Yes they should all resign.

I think if Greg doesn't want to race next year he should sit out. My doing turning laps in a corporate park in doesn't have an iota of impact on Pat McQuaid.

Funny stuff. I hate it when old sport stars hang around for too long.

I hate "open letters"... write a real letter, or write a real opinion piece, but don't fake who your real audience is.

Except that time when he said he believed Armstrong didn't use PEDs and that Lance's "performances
are [the] result of the same hard work, dedication, and focus that were [his] 10 years before."

Imagine that: Lemond did something he believed to be wrong because of financial pressure and
the desire to keep on doing his life's passion, selling bikes with his name on them.

How about this as a scenario: LeMond is laying the groundwork to replace McQuaid as the head of the UCI. Now wouldn't that be funny!!!

The Adelaide Lord Mayor says Armstrong can keep his key to the city. Money speaks volumes anywhere.

Read Charlie Walsh's take on all this, too.

Of course he can, who would want a key to Adelaide city? They had to move the Aussie Grand Prix from there because the drivers got so bored with the vista they fell asleep during the race. Speaking about Lemond, in fact about all the other journalists and fans out for the UCI's blood, can I point out that USADA's case is largely about something that happened years ago, and that UCI does in fact have the most stringent, invasive anti-doping program of all sports? They didn't catch these guys because they hadn't worked out the blood levels for the rider passports. And if they can't clear the peloton of cheats then it's because the tests today still aren't good enough. And if they aren't then I'd wager a significant number of world and Olympic medals of any sports involve some sort of doping.

Yea. I'm starting to wonder if you took all things to an equal level there would be no "professionals". In any case none that stand out much above the rest of us> I'm now offically tied with Lance for the same number of TDF wins. How bout that! I bet we'll die tied too

Not me, especially when they're the only Americans who actually won the Tour.
I also don't hate internet forums, because even though we can badmouth men who were courageous riders AND morally courageous enough not to keep quiet about cheaters, even when it meant losing their business, our badmouthings remain and eventually come back to haunt us.
