Is cycling.tv Best Option?
I finally got tired of paying for multiple channels just to watch cycling on NBCSports and canceled my satellite. I now have no broadcast TV. Looks like streaming off cycling.tv might be the best option and the $80 a year is about what dish was charging for one month (have to have a higher tier plan to get NBCS).
Can anyone comment on the quality of the video from cycling.tv - especially if watched on an HDTV?
Any better options?
Thanks.

Was just wondering same bikerjp as I noticed less than best video quality off my laptop (Paris-Nice) in full screen mode (all settings maximized). Thought to ask around if pay service will improved stream as well as other service features available with fee. Hopefully some members will help shed some light.

The quality is decent. One thing I'd caution is that there are races they don't carry, such as the grand tours. Blackouts depend on your geography, so I suspect the reason they're blacked out in the U.S. is because Universal Sports bought the rights in the U.S. to two of three and Versus has the TDF. You can purchase the Tour Tracker to cover the Tour, but that still leaves the Giro and Vuelta. The URL below, which can be accessed by non-subscribers, tells you what you get in the U.S.:

Thanks. Is the subscription quality better than what you can see free? The free looks pretty standard def. Sounds like it augments the coverage on Universal and NBCS. Does anyone know if you can pick up the Universal and NBCS via streaming? I know they do the TdF package but what about the Giro, Vuelta, Pro Challenge, Parix-Roubaix, Flanders and all the other good races cycling.tv doesn't seem to be able to show?

For those, your only option is really steephill.tv, if you can find a feed. The trouble with those is there are never any archives available and given the time difference, it's really hard to get time to watch them.
Cycling.tv has high-definition available for most of its races, if your bandwidth supports it. They don't really allow you to see anything for free, other than the short previews, which are standard def.
