Eloy Teruel: The Poor Guy

I mean kinda funny too and he's got a good sense of humour about it, But damn if this is not painful too watch!

Yeah, that was painful to see, but funny at the same time. I would imagine he will be hearing about it from the guys on his team and in the peleton for a good long time. Lord knows Phil won't ever mention his name again during a broadcast without reminding us of it. He did so at least 4 times during the final stage.

Lol yeah he's getting a ribbing for it. He's posted some funny Tweets so he's got a good sense of humor about it.

If he always dreamed of doing it, maybe he saw it as his only chance. I would have to do it on the rolling start!!! (if I was having a good day)

He's not the first, and he won't be the last.
I've seen a bunch of riders do this, and every single one has been good-natured about it.

Norm Alvis did it in Grandview Heights, Ohio in 2001. After the finish, he rolled through the S/F area several seconds after the last rider with his hands up again.

And one of our area's best riders did it in Grand Rapids last summer.

That's bike racing.

Waitaminute - he miscounted and actually had one lap to go?

Keith99 05-27-14 09:25 AM

Hardly worth feeling sorry for. He lost nothing. It was a multi Kilometer lap and he was away mainly because when he went no one chased.

It isn't like he was 100 meters off the front for Paris Roubaix and threw his arms up a lap of the track early.

It was a 5k finishing loop and they did 3 laps. So they crossed the finish line four times. He simply lost track.

I gave it a second thought and I'm actually beginning to feel sorry for the guy.

This was brilliant. How many guys go on 3 hour breaks and work their butts off for less than 1/10th the publicity he got.

But does anyone give him the credit fro getting his sponsors name out there on sites like this one for weeks?

NO.

Brilliant move and the poor guy gets no respect.
