Win A Grand Tour Sans Doping?

Riccardo Ricco says no. He says it's possible to ride one without doping, but winning one is a different story.

Ricco: It's impossible to win a grand tour without doping - VeloNews.com

Agree?

Twice-caught doper in "But I had to! Everybody else does it! It's impossible to win without it!" shocker. I particularly like the "they wouldn't even reduce my 12 year ban when I said I'd do it all again!" bit.

Come back to me when somebody who's still riding, and hasn't been caught, comes forward voluntarily, and says "I doped, and here's my proof that the others doped as well. And here's what I want us to do about it."

Is there logic in the world anymore?

If you can ride it, than it can be won. sheesh.

Sounds like self justification from a doper.

I just looked at Ricco's wiki page and saw this. You literally couldn't make it up;

2014 accused of buying EPO in a McDonalds car park[edit]

On 1 May 2014 Riccò was accused of purchasing EPO and testosterone, after being caught by Italian police in the car park of a McDonalds restaurant in Livorno.[SUP][29][/SUP]Riccò later claimed to be "in the wrong place at the wrong time" and his lawyer stated that he was not in the car park to purchase EPO.

"I was only there to ask for directions to get away from there!"

Of course he wasn't there to purchase EPO. He was there to pick up HGH, a few testosterone patches, two bags of blood that they had kindly agreed to store in their refrigerator, and a Happy Meal.
