I thought it was clear, I'm advocating rebreaking his back. Sheesh.

The only subtext more disappointing would be to learn that Lemond was responsible for deflating the footballs at the Patriots game.
Anybody see him there?
No, that was BikesDirect.

Also, LA basically took the greatest American cyclist evar title from him for a good few years and everyone has egos so that must have been painful.

At these levels of competition there are no friends. They will screw each other over whatever it takes to stay on top. To think otherwise is to live in the land of unicorns and rainbows. Not surprisingly a lot of these guys are not even remotely decent human beings............

I also think most of the guys from that era, and all apparently doping, would've been just as vicious as Lance if they were on top of the heap and trying to hold on.

Excellent. Its no secret that Lemond has had heavy medical bills. Because Tiger is loathed more than Lance, Lemond had no problem taking up a collection as a volunteer. If Tiger couldn't hit a golf ball he would have been homeless with his stupidity and selfishness and being toothless would be fitting.

One thing not mentioned is if Lemond just kept quiet to start with, none of this happen. He started it off and LA struck back. They are too babies. Sure LA ruined his business but Lemond cried because LA replaced him as king

Lemond is a victim of Lance and Trek. Both parties conspired to cheat at the TdF, Trek feed Lance extra bikes to be sold on ebay to fund Lance's drug program. When Lemond called out Lance, Trek had full knowledge of Lance's doping. Trek destroyed professional bike racing by enabling Lance's doping.

Lemond is doing professional bike racing a favor. Get them all including the team directors like Gorski.

Until I read this thread I has no idea of that Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods were such adversaries or even had an antagonistic relationship.

Ridiculous. Why in the hell should have Lemond kept quiet when he was having his reputation imputed by Armstrong? Lemond knew Armstrong was a fraud and nobody could race that way clean because Lemond was the best in his day. Of course he was outraged by Armstrong winning consecutive TdF's because he knew he was a doper. So he had a right to speak up as he was the only true American champion. What killed Armstrong's career was greed. He not only wanted to be king but the greatest of all time and would cheat and throw anybody under the bus to achieve that goal. Lance probably would have won 2 TdF's clean..perhaps one or two more. He got what he deserved and Lemond didn't is the bottom line.

There are many parallels. Both are cheaters of the nth degree. Both are beyond ruthless and selfish. If you compared Tiger Woods body throughout his career there is also belief by many that Tiger used performance enhancing drugs as well. You don't turn a scrawny 150 lb geek into a 210 lb halfback without outside help. The good news is he got his just desserts just like Lance did. Tiger Woods may be the single most loathsome athlete to ever play any sport.

Um, "cheating" was not allowed. And, seems I read somewhere that due to the location of some of the lead shot he still has in his body, some in or near his heart, his was advised by his doctors to never exercise past a certain rate of exertion. Give the guy a break, Lance was cruel. Ask the guy questions, and yeah, he has every right to say how he feels about it.

And I seriously doubt if Lindsey Vonn would have so much as looked his way of not for his celebrity. I mean c,mon, he's not even remotely handsome.

It's gotta be one of them, Lemond or Lance. They're both the debil. And they're training Belelchick.

Not that I'm defending Tiger here, but plenty of athletes that start their careers at early ages have significant weight gain throughout their careers. Tiger woods started pro golfing at the age of 19, he's had 20 years to gain weight. Look at boxers at the beginning of their careers, like James Toney, he started out as a 135 pound lightweight and he ballooned up to heavy weight by the end of his career. No he never took steroids. He just got fat. Getting older kinda does that to you.

Armstrong is the only guy that tried to destroy the lives and careers of multiple multiple people.

Lemond who is now borderline Obese is out to get Lance. Lemond was a great champion during HIS time. Lance was the best at his time (cheating was allowed) so now we have a cleaner bunch but not clean all around.
Move on Gregg.....you are fast becoming more of a jerk.
Uhm, LA ruined the guy. Went after him cold. He could say whatever he wants about LA..he has earned that right. FYI: That "obese" guy would probably destroy you on a bike and he is a sincerely nice person. Many stories about him being a good guy...and LA..not so much.
