bike rack for trail a bike?

We have an Adams Trail a Bike and are trying to figure out a good solid bike rack that will work on our Subaru Outback. We have a rear, hanging rack right now that doesn't feel very stable - and we can't really lock the bikes well on that. The weight of the Trail a Bike seems very one-sided when it's folded.

I'm not really sure how we'd attach the trail a bike to a top rack. Does anyone have a rack that works well for them and how do you attach the bike to it?

We're hoping to take shorter day trips (for those we could fold the trail a bike and put it in the back) and we could also want to use it on longer weekend trips where the back of the car will be full of other stuff.

Thanks.
