Personally I'm not so sure it should be a law. I think it's a personal thing. That said, it is a law in some parts of WA but I don't think it's a state ordinance for adults (yet). I believe all of King County (with exception of the city of Seattle although that looks to be changing too) is covered by a mandatory bicycle helmet law (regardless of age).

Yea i saw this link too but when I search through all of the legislature the only thing i could find was that any one UNDER the age of 16 needed to wear a helmet i could find NO where that it said adults, plus when you go to king counties bicycle site (they have one) it says you SHOULD wear your helmet, it does not state its a law, where as it DOES state you NEED to have a light for night riding becuase that IS the law.. it just seems a little fishy that i cant find it in writing anywhere I like to know my facts if i can... Anyways I agree with you, it should be a law.. no one tells you that you cant smoke, and i'm sure smoking kills more people a year then bicycles.. but i'm just guessing

Although not the text of the law... it hints that there definately is a law in King County and that it has finally been extended into Seattle.

anyways i only rode 17 miles today, i just found out how SUCKY it is trying to ride north on the bike trial becuase you have a huge headwind blowing towards you.. i could barely do 12 to 13mph without being very tired.. turned around went the other way, was doing 17 to 18 mph with the same effort if not less! man that wind SUCKS!

How about post exercise nutrition? I have a whey protein/carb shake after my rides within 20 minutes. Are you fueling your body for recovery?
