First real family road ride...
This is my first post in this section of the forum. I usually hang out in the C&V section. Up until recently it was just me riding. Now I've gotten all 4 of us road bikes and we can go on trips together. We went this past weekend on a 20 mile cruise that was fairly easy for everyone. Here are a couple of pics...
All of the classics taking a rest.
All of us:
I hope to add more photos as we get out more. It's so cool that they all want to go now.

Great pix! How do you like biking in Jefferson County (did I read that right?). I used to live in Harpers Ferry. 340 not so welcoming...

Thanks, These pictures were taken at Devils Backbone Park near Boonsboro, Md. We do alot of riding around the Sharpsburg area. The roads are very bike friendly out there. I do some riding around the Summit Point area and I do some hill training in Harpers Ferry from time to time. West Va. roads are not very well suited for bikes at all. I wish we could change that..

Very nice photos. I bet it feels so good to have a family outing like that. My wife doesn't bike and as hard as I try, still refuses. We do go out with her on roller blades though. My little guy (20 months) is in a trailer of course. We do about 8 miles, not 20 though. They close down the parkway to cars on Sundays so we have been doing that together.
I do look forward to taking pictures like that of my own family someday!

Yes, I'm a happy guy right now. I'm going to ride it out as long as I can(sorry about the bad pun.). There are a couple of problems though. Now I have 4 bikes to maintain, and so much for my peaceful Sunday morning 40-50 milers alone, but I would'nt trade having the family along for anything in the world...

I am guessing you will get really good at maintaining bicycles then. Kinds have a way of breaking things in new and ingenious ways. I am sure you will still have 40-50 mile days in your future. Sometimes you just won't be able to get the family motivated.

You are correct on both of those comments. It was a good thing that I built both of my bikes before setting their bikes up. It was great practice for whats to come..
