Purchase: Trek 7200 vs Specialized Crossroads!!!!
Hey team, I need some of the expert advice again! I have an opportunity to buy a nice looking
(from Craigslist photo) Trek 22' 7200 bicycle for 200$. a few dollars more than I paid for my 2006 Specialized Crossroads XC with a 17.5' seat post.
Ive heard several of you say the 17in frame may be too small, im 6'. I often find myself wishing i could lean forward on long rides(2-10 miles) with the upright position. Wondering if this new Trek is the better deal. I know the specialized bike is the better quality bike, but if the trek fits better....that i might consider selling the Specialized, im sure for 200 or so. I dont like the way i do feel a little cramped on the specialized and want to see how the 22' frame makes me feel on long rides.
Any thoughts and your time to share is appreciated! I love this forum!

I think FIT is far more important than quality of bike. (Although I agree that the Spec. is a better bike. I own a 7100 and my wife a Crossroads and her bike is certainly much, much better.)

Since you are getting into the riding, I'd at least try out that bike or another like it at an LBS. If you like the style, I'd bide my time for the right one to pop up on Craigslist. It sounds like you would like the 7200 but wish you had gotten something with better components.

You could also customize the bike more to your liking and you will have a cooler better fitting bike!
