Anyone ride a Zigo?

I saw one of these for the first time in downtown Philadelphia yesterday and thought it looked amazing! Can anyone who has one share their thoughts on it? How does it ride? Can mom & dad share the same bike by adjusting seat and handlebar height? Can you get children and, say, groceries for dinner in it? I've been using an aged Burley with the almost 3-year-old, but I am very uncomfortable with her behind me in Philly traffic, which really limits where we can go. I'm expecting baby #2 now so I'm very interested in multiple-child transport systems. We've been car-free since the first kid was born and want to stay that way!

There were pictures of three Zigo riders side by side in the "post your trailer pictures" thread a while ago. It should still be on the last page of the thread. I'm not sure if they were rental units or not (for a long term evaluation from the riders in the photo), but I'd PM the poster and ask their opinion on it.

Hi Lieren ,

Thanks for the post! With two children you would certainly have storage space for dinner, it also has pockets in the back for day to day stuff. You have ability to add a rack and panniers for even more storage on the bike. The bicycle can be easily adjusted between two riders. You can tweek the bike like any change the seat add pedals or different bars. That picture I posted was from a 15 mile ride at NYC’s Summer Streets. One of the riders was 6’2” he also did a review that can be seen here https://tinyurl.com/n9lj6t

What I like about the Zigo Leader is that you can interact with your child, adjust a tippy helmet or give them a snack. All without having to worry about balancing when you stop. When your child cry’s you look, with them in the back you run the risk of drifting in that direction. With them up front and close you can calm them without that added risk. The modular factor is cool as well, you can detach the bicycle from the pod without waking a sleeping child. Then using it as a stroller. Also out of the box it comes as a complete functioning stroller and bicycle. Unlike most trailers where you have buy a push bar and wheels to use it as a stroller.

Ride wise it feels a little funny at first but nothing major. When you turn your lean is different from a regular bike. I have done a 20mile rolling ride on it and the owner of the company did the NYC 5 boro bike tour (50 miles) on it without issue.

Right now the only real drawback for you is that when your 2nd arrives you need to wait about 6 month or until he or she has good head control. However I have seen some euro folks with pretty young one in a zigo, but its not suggested.

I do work for the company and sold that one to the person you saw in Philly. I will reach out to her and see if she can give you some feedback about Philly Zigo riding. Right now I don’t have a dealer in Philly (working on it) but if you need a test ride I can meet up with you. I did that for the Zigo Leader cursing Philly now. Please post any other questions.

Marc
