2005 Trek 7300: Initial Impression

My doctor told me to get some exercise so after 20 non-bike years I purchased a 2005 Trek 7300 at the LBS. I wanted a bike for riding bike trails, bike paths, around town and in relative comfort. This is what the LBS recommended and they were right. I put a kick stand on it and also a computer/odometer. Two weeks after purchase I took it back in to see if anything needed adjustment after the first 100 miles. The shop mechanic asked if I would like to watch him check the bike and answer questions. I did. Nothing unusual. My butt was initially quite sore but now has turned to leather, hills are much easier and the ride is smooth as silk with shifts that are quick and positive. I will probably add a rear rack later but for now its just fine.

Great to hear you are enjoying bking. Great way to get some exercise, and enjoy at the same time.

Some of get sort of addicted - hope that happens to you!

Then, we just keep buying more bikes.

Congrats on a return to biking. I'm recently married, and my wife cooks VERY well. Hence, a good time to get back into biking...

Just curious if you also tested any other Trek hybrids out? I'm looking at the 7200fx versus the 7300fx, wondering if there is much difference.

I use one of these for commuting and it's a great bike. Enjoy!
