I believe they lucked out,I often hunt and am off road in the snow here,but I carry survival gear and know how to use it.

I'm not familiar with the terrain. But it appears the driver wasn't familiar with his vehicle's ability. The escalation of a what might be called a minor incident (the slow roll over caused by ground conditions and driver/vehicle ability) into a tenuous survival incident (weather and remote location) is often what separates the living from the dead. Be Prepared means avoiding the accident or mitigating its impact.
