Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

I should send Catrike a bill.

Mrs. Grouch and I rode our Catrikes in the local 4th of July parade yesterday. Lots of people took our picture. Lots of people shouted "neat bike". Lots of people pointed us out to little kids. A few people even asked for buying information. After the parade we had a picnic where a bunch of middle school aged boys proved that it's possible to test ride a tadpole trike that's way too big.

It was fun.

Riding a trike gets you 99% more attention than a person riding a $15,000 CF bike will ever get.

When you ride a trike your are a real life ad for trikes. I get stopped and questioned all the time.

When I get to my start point, if there are many folks there, I know it will take me a while to answer friendly questions about the Cat 700.

All folks have been friendly, have surprised more than one cyclist with a good bike and expensive kit by blowing by them. Dropped several younger ones on hills. A young, elite cyclist can drop me on hill or flat, but I am 65 with old knees. My advantage is low body weight and good conditioning. A good attitude helps, too.

Whoever says a tadpole trike won't climb needs to work on their legs and wind.
