Bike E2 suspension conversion.
I removed the goofy 16" wheel from my E2 tandem and replaced it with a 20" suspension fork and tilting steering. Here is the result. Not suitable for shorter riders! I may try a 6" or 6.5" rear shock to replace the 5.5" Cane Creek.
If anyone is interested in the technical aspect to the conversion, let me know! http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...psbuwewu2h.jpg http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...pss4vku9wg.jpg http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...psrsknv0ag.jpg http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...psbnown5io.jpg |
It appears going to the 20" front wheel allowed you to have positive trail and positive rake, instead of that insanely, unconscionably-unsafe reverse-rake fork and 90" steerer. I bet the handling is 10,000% better now. The suspension, although nice, pales next to the improvement in geometry. I also see you've routed the front brake cable on the starboard side so it doesn't rub the chain. Excellent job all around!
