Does your leg stretch out too much?

Are you clipped in?

Both of those conditions helped me when I corrected them. Especially the clip/cleat.
Pulling on the pedals when accelerating was a huge help.

Yes I am clipped in,and position seems ok.But why get this type of pain on a recumbent. They say you use different muscles on a recumbent to a upright, but this seems a strange thing to say as you are still peddling in circles,so why should muscles used be so different? This knee problem seems to be a common problem with recumbent riders.

It seems if you push harder rather than spin faster, you can get knee pain. It happens with me, so I learn rather than push harder, to spin more (lower gear) and I don't have any pain.
