"If Worksman could incorporate using a Rholoff 14 speed internally geared hub on the drive wheel. I have friend who has one of these hubs on a Greenspeed GTR. The front shifting is a Schlumph Speed Drive crankset. This is the simplest form of 28 speeds available and offers a fairly wide range of gears. I must admit that shifting is definetly "unconventional" to say the least. You just keep twisting the grip shifter until you reach the desired resistance. It almost seems like it's broken because it never seems to reach the end. 'Round & 'round that shifter goes! And then to shift the front, you whack the crank with your heel and BOOM! Big change of gears! 14 NEW gears to twist through!"
Oh stop it pleeeese!! My heart can't take it!! Such a trike , to me, would be a true dream!! |
TO all the people responding to my question. First of my quest for a bent trike is over, No i didnt buy one but unfortunate events in the family caused me to turn my thoughts and finances away from a new pair of bicycle. But thanks for all the input and sorry to cause any rift between you fine people. I thank you for your time and opionions. Maybe next year. thanks again Peabob

TIGHTWAD, don't stop dreaming of such a trike. I walked into a LBS and found a Greenspeed GTX on their buletine board, only$2,900! I took the number in spite of the fact that I am the househusband to a wife and 4 kids. "Honey, I need 3 grand to buy another tricycle...pleeeease!"....yeah, RIGHT! Like another hole-in-the-head! So 4 months passed. I got a temp job painting a house. Total haul...$3,000! Hmmmm
Curious, I dialed. The trike was still unsold! I asked how much he would be willing to let it go for. AMAZING......$2,000. I call it my Ferrari! It's red and came with every option imaginable. Headrest, wireless heartrate computer, rack, bags (3 of them), fenders, Marathon kevlar tires, Schlumph Mtn drive crank, 2 mirrors and 2 flashing rear lights. I checked the Greenspeed site and all that bling would have cost almost $7,000! Talk about a "dream come true"! As some lyrics by Journey illustrate..."don't stop believing, hold on to that feeling...." I know it doesn't hold much for "instant gratification", but the end result is far better anyway. And the wife was OK withit too.(I gave her the other thou, which helped alot!) |
Sweet deal. They should have advertised that trike online or on eBay, it would have earned them twice as much. Do you know if it was replaced with something else/better?
|
PEABOB here again, well its not really misfortune as misfortunate, Seems my sons car blew an engine and the body is fine as is the rest so the money for our trikes is going for a new engine till he can pay me back.. so we still have pedal transportation its just schwin two speeds... slow and stop. later everyone Paul

YES AGAIN! He replaced it with something MUCH better! Something my wife wants, and she's not a cyclist! CA$H!!!!!!! sorry, he didn't get a better 'bent. He "HAD" a Ferrari of recumbency. (now it's MINE, all MINE!! hehehehee) It was for his kid to take to college. I'm sure "some" college kids would be stoked! The rest, not so much. (guess his kid was the latter, not the former) |
