Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

Girls on recumbents

There are two things that I just think are so sexy:
1. Girls who play bass in the band
2. Girls who ride recumbents.

How can we encourage more of the same (bent girls)? Especially this summer. It adds so much to the ride when there are a few nice gals to look at along the way.

Yea I know this isn't the place to discuss girls who play bass guitar, so we can just stick to bent girls (if we have to).

Get a tandem bent, and go trolling for stokers. Jan, my SO rides the tandem and has started riding a Bike E. And I'll admit she looks damn fine in her bike stuff. But I still can't get her to try any of my under seat steering bikes.....yet

Girls on recumbents,i wish.
My wife hates them(recumbents)she ont even look at me when im on mine.
She had a girl around our house the other day and the subject came up of exercise, well i said bike are very good.
The girl said they are just too uncomfortable,so i said you could ride a recumbent.
She looked at me as though i had suggested a theresome with her and my wife.
In fact every woman i know looks at my bike in absolute disguste.
It has been made worse by he fact that my wife was in a line of peolpe ot the school ans she heared the two woman in front say "Have you seen that
loony that rise that funny bike "
My wife didnt say any thing(she didnt want to be associated with the loony)
I would love to see more girls riding recumbents, but i think we will have to weight a long time.
Any way while we are on the subject,do any one remember the Queen video
I want to ride my bicycle with all those naked girls riding uprights.
Well the thought of them doing the same thing on recumbents would be taking the idea to new hieghts,(WHAT A THOUGHT).
it would certainly get recumbents in the public eye, whether itwould get more girls riding them is a matter of debate.

Buy me one, and I'm on one for sure!

I've seen some around the Chicago area. Maybe you just need to move?

ORBIT1 - I'm sorry that your area is so intolerent of recumbents. I am lucky to live in an area where there is a fair interest in recumbents. It's fun to see one zip by and try to identify it - EasyRacers, Lightnings, Penningers, Haluzak...you get the picture.

Both my husband and I have a bent. He rides his exclusively (Lightning P-38) while I switch back and forth between my bent (Lightning Phantom) and my road bike.

Only thing I can think of outside of moving outright is advocacy. My husband and I have gotten a number of folks at our LBS interested in his bent. We've encouraged them to take it out for a spin, talked and shown pictures, and now they're quite fascinated with bents. A good start.

My wife rides a recumbent, her friend Melinda does (sorry guys,
she's married and her husband rides a recumbent too).

The other guitar player in my band rides a Linear recumbent.

No female musician recumbent riders that I'm aware of though.

I know what we can do. Lets start a rumor that recumbents give you buns of steal and killer calves! And, that upright bikes are a pain in the neck and but.
