Frozen boom

I've recently had back surgery and knee replacements. Now post-op I find that my heel cannot reach the pedal on my Vision R-42. I find I can't adjust the boom as it seems to be frozen into place. I took it to People Movers and their mechanic couldn't loosen it either. Anybody have any ideas how to solve this problem?

WD40 and let it the fluid penetrate overnight, maybe try pushing it further inward to loosen it up?

Take out the bottom bracket and put a cheater pipe into the B/B sheel to rotate the boom from the frame like a corkscrew?

Cat, we tried the WD40 method...didn't work...but I do like your 2nd idea. We'll give it a try.

Is this something that can be solved with a block or some other kind of extender on the pedal?

Try PB Blaster from your local auto parts store. That usuall unfreezes siezed seatposts for me and it should work for you.

Try sliding a slot screwdriver between the gaps where the bolt tightens the frame onto the boom. Use the screwdriver to slightly widen the gap, then have a friend twist the boom out (or give the front derailleur tower a few taps with a rubber mallet). Hopefully the boom will come out without too much damage to the paint!
