seeking mirror **POST** - for tadpole trike

I'm going to try this again - this time with a clearer subject line.

Hi! I just bought a used JM recumbent trike, an older version (not the X2), in January. I've been trying to get a second mirror mounting **POST** (not the mirror itself! which I have) from the manufacturer since January. They finally replied saying it would be $25 to make (not a bad price), but would probably cost as much in shipping, and would probably take a long time (judging by how long it took me to get a reply!!!...)

I have purchased a second mirror (the Mirrycle mirror) for the right side but I only have a mirror mounting post for one side of the trike. I bet I could find an existing mirror post for another trike that would work with mine.

Do you have a trike that has a mirror post I could use on my tadpole trike? (tadpoles have two wheels in the front).

Here's what the current mirror post looks like, and where it attaches (see photos). It can be attached to left or right side:

Any ideas *much* appreciated! I'll feel safer with a mirror on each side!!!

Sun Glasses

I still prefer sunglasses with rear view.

There are many web sites on rear view sunglasses. For me the sunglasses give a much greater view then any mirror I have tired.

I prefer the hand mirror. I can see behind both left and right of me at the same time with the hand mirror.

once I get a picture of the mirror, I'll post it.

I don't know what happened to that helmet with several mirrors built inside. Just a thought. If they ever became available; someone would know.

You could make one yourself:

You may need to get a bit creative though; the mirror post in your picture looks pretty specialized. But, I bet you could do it with parts from a hardware store.

any good welding/machine shop can do this for you. you may have to sand and paint, but the rest
should take less than an hours time no problem.
