looking for direction
I am considering a recumbent. I saw a long ez racer I liked. It had high handle bars and looked nice. I am a little confused with all the different types and styles of recumbents. I am 6,1 and would just like the input of those who know this type of bike. If you would recomend a recumbent to a person looking to do century rides and perhaps take it on the C&O trail (if advisable) what bike would you recomend and why? Thanks

Lots of folks ride long distances on long wheelbase 'bents such as those from Easy Racers or RANS. You can find links to those manufacturers and others plus 'bent retailers at Bentrideronline.com. Plus, you get a message board that draws a bigger crowd of 'bent riders than this forum. Not to minimize the value of Bike Forums and this part of it.

Welcome.
I would recommend the bents I like, including the Rans Rocket SWB and the Trice Q trike. Others will recommend bents they like. You may well be happiest with something altogether different.
Three suggestions: Do some reading at BentRider Online, ride a variety of bents before you choose your first one, and be not a bit concerned if your first rides are a bit uncertain.
You may have to travel a bit to find a bent dealer, but there are some great ones!

See what you can ride in your area by checking the Rans site for dealer locations, the Sun bikes site, or asking who is in your area that you might be able to check stuff out.
Or just watch the used classifieds on Craigslist, hostelshoppe, bentrider online, etc., until you find such a good deal that you can't pass it up. If you don't like it you can probably resell it.
