Looking at used Rans Tailwind tomorrow...
I think it might just fit the bill, especially the price.
Is there any odd thing I should know about the model?
How heavy of a rider will it hold? How about with a load?
I've rode allot of bents in the last couple of weeks. I think I would like s SWB later, but like the LWB, even if it has the "old man" look (sorry, but it does!). So I was looking at getting this barely used LWB and a real good price ($450 with kickstand and bag!) and saving up for the speedy SWB! Or maybe a tandem LWB!
Thanks for any input.

The Tailwind, Rans' low-priced model, has many happy owners. The '06 model had a weight limit of 275 pounds.
Worry not about the old man look of a LWB. Their appearance changes above 20 mph even if the rider's gray beard is streaming in the breeze.
Good weather is ahead. It's time for riding!

I rode an '00 Tailwind from March '06-August '08, when I upgraded to a new V-Rex. The Tailwind was great fun. The V-Rex is a bit zippier, fits me better (45" x-seam) and rolls over rough pavement better. The '00 model has a 1.5" diameter main tube and newer models have a 2" tube for a stiffer ride.

Well, the Tailwind got sold while I was out to lunch, literially! I rode it and then went down to Taco Bell and came back and it was gone. I wasn't 100% sure about it anyway, or I would have bought it then.
Did get to test ride a Rans V-Rex, Bachetta Giro 20 and 26. I really like the SWB and High Racers!
Tomorrow I'm off to see about a Burley LWB.

Just found a newly listed 2006 Bacchetta Giro 20 on CL! Fenders and rack and in great shape! Looking at it this afternoon! 3 hour trip to St Louis, but I don't care.
And its BLUE!

I was undecided between a Giro 20 and a V-Rex last August. Would've been a month delay for a Giro while RANS could ship a Rex immediately; no more indecision! I'm sure the Giro 20 would have been just as much fun.

I rode both the V-Rex and Giro 20 (and 26) yesterday for a long time. I did a good 30 minutes on all three. I would like to get a high racer like the Giro 26 or Strada, but I need something a little more stable for in town riding with the Burley tag a long. So I deciding to get either the V-Rex or Giro 20.
I truefully have no firm setting either way. Both 20/26 bents rode the same and felt the same to me. I wish there was a major differance, but I didn't see it.
The only thing I do know is that I want a Bella ATT ASAP! Guess the n+1, thing is starting early. But my daughter likes the looks of it and has rode a Bacchetta LWB and really wants one for the long rides we go to.
Hoping my daugther likes the Giro 20 so much that is "forces" me to get the Strada or Giro 26 as well!
