Trigger Shifters

I'm wanting to swap out my X7 grip shifters for X7 trigger shifters. But as I was noticing on my ride lst night, I rally don't have much space left between my legs and the handlebars, width wise. I was wondering if anyone has done the swap over and noticed that their legs were hitting the triggers?

This is probably one of the reasons for using grip shifters on recumbents.

What type of bike do you have?

I replaced gripshifts on my V-Rex with SRAM triggers. They aren't in the way. I could imagine some setups where there could be clearance issues, depending on the legs and the handlebars setup.

I bought JanMM's Rans Tailwind. Love it, BTW. He had installed triggers. They R in the way. I'll reinstall gripshifters when I get around to it.

You could install the triggers on a slightly wider bar. These are not expensive and I think well worth it. I just bought a Screamer tandem with narrow bars and the grip shifts and I will be going to the X.9 triggers and B39 Bar as soon as I can afford to. I have the triggers on two other bikes and love them.

B-39s on my V-Rex. Leverleg's Tailwind has the T-bars.

Yes I saw that but I meant that he could use the combination of B-37 or B-39 bars and triggers together.

I have X.9 gripshifters on both of my bents. Absolutely love them. Have trigger shifters on a couple of DF bikes ... don't like those so much.

Triggers on T'wind

I have SRAM trigger shifters on a Tailwind and they work very well. I think the straight T-bar set up is ideal for trigger shifters.

Less potential for interference with the T-bars.

That could start to get less cost-effective, since the B-39/37 might need a new riser.
I think he is leaning towards gripshifts, anyway.

Yea, I think I'm just going to save the money and stay this my gripshifters. But its triggers all the way when I find a Rans Rocket!

Thanks for the input folks.

I'd go to the LBS and hold a pair up against the bars and see if your knees would hit them. They will go where the grip shifters are now.
