need help
I am trying to find out if the recumbent bikes in the gym are in any way like a real 'bent. I am not sure if I am going to look at a bent, but I know I will use the bikes at the gym on weight training days--warm up for aerobic weight training.
How will using those gym biikes 3 days a week and then riding for aerobic/fitness at least 3 days a week affect me. I understand the bent uses some differnt muscles than an upright bike.
bent1 where are you? I need help!

OK after some sleep and thought I think the exercise bikes plus anything else you do is going to improve your overall fitness. Even though a recumbent bike uses some different muscles, this can be complemented with a regular bike for a total workout. There are others here on the forums that ride both type of bikes regularly. Talk to your doctor perhaps and get his feel on this. Maybe he has some other suggestions to round out your fitness regimen as well. Good Luck!
