You say that some people say that riding a bent is a sign of "weakness"? Actually when I ride my bent I feel like I am projecting the fact that I have more common sense than someone on a DF bike. I am not humped up like a dog in heat, and I am not setting on a 2x4 on edge.

1. Why do so many folks say things like '2 wheeled bent' instead of recumbent bike?
2. Unless they were actually sitting on a 2x4, why would I assume that a cyclist on an upright bike is more of an idiot than I am?

I took a 25 mile ride around town Sunday afternoon; 21 miles on quiet residential streets and 4 miles on the MUP. I saw zero other unicycles/bicycles/trikes/pedalcycles/HPVs on the streets in 21 miles, and six other cyclists* on the 4 miles of MUP.
Kinda surprised me, too.
Anyway, my 40,000 sqft LBS has dabbled in recumbents for the past ~25 years. About five (?) years ago they got their first recumbent trike in inventory. Today, about 85% of their recumbent inventory is trikes. There could be several explanations, but the most reasonable one is that they're stocking what's selling.

I recently sold my ICE trike to buy a Bacchetta GIRO 26.
The ICE was great fun but not fast enough and a bit large to transport and store.
I have had the Bacchetta out for about 30km. It is still about -6 degrees here in Denmark and will take me a while longer to get used to the Giro.
For those who know Bacchettas, the faults in the photograph have been corrected.

I am riding a Giro 26 but am considering a trike. The reason? I live on an island where there are two big hills, one 13% and the other 15%. So far I have to get off and walk on both of them on the Giro, with 26/34 gearing. On my DF bike which I don't like to ride as much obviously I can climb the hills seated. Maybe I just need more practice. But I like the idea of slow stable climbing with a trike. I find the two-wheeled bent gets too twitchy below about 6 kph.

OK Steve. I'm not a Bacchetta owner, but I can't see any 'faults' with your setup.
CBC - with a 26/34 you can't climb a 13% grade? It must be a matter of practice and acclimation.

I saw an Easy Racer today; so they aren't ALL dead yet! Everything seems to be almost frozen in time with that crazy economy. I made 3 loans and paid them off early before; but I tried to borrow for another trike and got turned down. Can't borrow for cars, appliances, or trike collections.
I need a cardboard sign; on one side THE END IS NEAR and on the other side: WILL WORK FOR A TRIKE.
