"Bob" trailer advice?

I’m looking for some advice in regards to the proper size Bob Yak to fit my Tour Easy. The bike is circa late ’99 or early 2000, 700 rear wheel, full wrap fender, and the seat struts extend below the QR Skewer.

I assume I should be looking for a Yak 28 to accommodate the 700 wheel with fender though I’m also concerned about the seat struts interfering with the yoke and wonder if the Yak Santana might give me more skewer width to place the yoke outboard of the struts.

Any advice will be appreciated as I’m starting to notice some units appearing on Craigslist already. I wouldn’t want to miss a good deal.

Thank You.

The only way to know is to try, Im sure one of the shops around you has a BOB, or some one that works in the shop has one. The Santana BOB has a quick release and BOB fork that fits a rear hub with a 160mm spacing, so it wont work with your hubs 132- 135 mm spacing. Ive used the BOB behind all my bents, but none have the Tour EZ's rear seat braces, but I think it would fit. If you needed you could use the tandem hub BOB quick release at 145mm hub spacing, with some spacers it would give you more room between the seat brace and the BOB fork

Thanks for the input. I'm going to look at a Yak tomorrow. It has the Santana skewer and fork. I'll most likely discover that the Santana set-up is too wide which is O.K. because I intend to buy a "28" fork anyway. The "28" fork will give me the versatility to use the trailer with any of my bikes, the 26" ers and the 700's. I'll just trim the skewer length down to the best usable width for my TE and gradually buy skewers to convert the rest of the fleet to "Tow ready" status.

I have three tandems, and four or five singles... And only two skewers one for 145mm hubs an the tandems and one for the singles with their 135mm hubs. It so easy to swap from one bike to another I don't boter to set up each bike with its own skewers.

One thing that you will want is extra clips for the BOB hitch. The do come with little rubber straps so they wont get lost, but they dont last long and the clips get lost... I've even used extra spokes to make my own when needed.
