Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

Is it hard to get parts for a cannondale bent 2 ?

Well... what parts are you trying to find? Most wear 'n' tear parts are generic bicycle parts, available at any good bike store. Slightly different parts (such as tires) can be found through a variety of Internet retailers. Really special parts, such as seat fabrics, can be reproduced or have been hoarded by other companies. I think Hostel Shoppe has a selection of Vision seat parts, but I'm not certain.

Hi Jeff,

The truth is i dont know, Im just trying to make sure all my bases are covered incase I do.

As Im the uk ,where the market is noticably smaller, I thought Id read up a bit and discovered that one of the brands I was interested in, Burley ,went out of business, and apparently not worth picking up i.e. because you cant find parts for it.

Because Vision and Cannondale ( recumbents ) are also both defunct, it got me wondering what would happen if I purcahsed one , and If I'd face the same problem trying to find parts.

Send an e-mail to The Hostel Shoppe https://www.hostelshoppe.com/recumbent_catalog.php.

They deal in a lot of parts for a lot of companies, but even better....If I have this correctly Rolf Garthus, the owner, actually took over Vision and morphed it into Volae back in 2003.

I own a 2005 Volae and it's a great bike. The folks at the Hostel Shoppe can talk with you about parts availability for Vision and explain their International shipping policies.

I have been riding a Cannodale bent for several years. Parts thet are not standard must be ordered by a Cannondale dealer and some may no longer be available. The front suspension could prove to be a problem since only Cannondale seems to be able to repair it. Parts for the mid-drive mechanism were in short supply a couple of years ago.

It's been a good ride but with 20,000+ miles on it I think that I have got my moneys worth.

I also ride a Volae Expedition Pro and an ICE trike.

Sort of true. Burley got out of the recumbent business. Rights to build their (former) line-up were sold to Edge Recumbents.

https://www.edgerecumbents.com/

The models aren't identical to the original Burleys, but close.
