Anyone want to go for a ride?
The Bulky Bullet is taking the show on the road and racing at the HPRA Florida Challenge in Pembroke Pines, FL February 26th & 27th. On Thursday the 24th I'd like to go for a tune-up / leg stretching (hey, I'll be coming off a 16-18 hour drive) ride on the General James A. Van Fleet State Trail. I would love to meet some forum posters from the Sunshine State while I'm down there. If anyone is able to do a Thursday ride, let me know!

Sayrl,
I live in Cape Coral, Fl. (Right next to Ft Myers.) Sanibel Island, Fl is around 20 miles from me. (I don't have my GPS, but by Map Quest it looks to be around 125-130 miles from where you’re going.) The island is kinda designed around bikes...over there the bikes have the right of way and people follow it, or get big fines! Strange feeling, they almost lock up the brakes for bikes. The bike trails are right alongside of the roads and a lot of them are tree lined to keep bikes and cars separate. If your looking for fast, it's not for you, just kick back and enjoy the ride around the island and down to the lighthouse/beach. We've ridden over there many times with and without my dog. Talk about dogs, there is even a drinking fountain ground level for them.
Anyway, if you wanted to stop by on your way to or from your destination, maybe we could ride the island? I'm retired, so one day is pretty much the same as far as free time.
BTW, I have a Sun X3-SX.

I'd love to, but that's the wrong side of the peninsula for where I'll be. I'm only racing Saturday and Sunday. I'll be staying up closer to New Smyrna the rest of the days that I'm down there. As it is, it would be about a 2 hour drive to the trail I was looking to ride. Sanibel would be more like 4 1/2 to 5. Sorry.

Sayre,
No problem. I knew it was outta your way, but thought since you were down this way maybe you might want to stay a little longer under the sun.
TTYL,
Bob
