I haven't ridden my 'bent in months. It was my primary bike for about a year, but I've gotten new bikes since then.

I rode it again this year for a while due to some neck issues. I started viewing it as the "injured myself bike". It's a fun bike. It's sitting forlorn with a flat tire in the living room.

I think I'll clean it up and fix the flat this weekend. Then I'll commute on it next week. Yeah, show the 'bent some love.

Letting a bike sit there with a flat tire is just offensive but housing it in the living room does make up for it. <G>

I didn't notice the flat until recently. I do feel bad. On the other hand I recently upgraded the brakes on the 'bent to Avid BB7s from the cheap Tektros it came with. They're much easier to adjust.

All my bikes stay indoors. The 'bent and Big Dummy in the living room. The single-speed and LHT in the kitchen, and the folding bike in a closet. Can you tell I live alone? Just me, five bikes, two dogs, and a cat.

My friend wants his Bacchetta back (I was hoping he'd forgotten I'd had it) so I'll be paying Tom Armstrong a visit at Bluegrass Cycles soon. I'm going to take a careful look at the Giro. One of these days I'll make it to the Yellow lot ride on Saturdays.

Yep. They will cost a bit more, but I like the idea of having good disc brakes.

I also feel a twinge of guilt when I walk past my bent... The thing is, I just prefer my upright for commuting 3 miles to work. The bent is much more comfortable on long distances, so when I go touring the choice is easy - bent! But still, it does spend a lot of time gather cobwebs in between tours.. sigh.

I took me a while to get around to fixing that flat. I was going to ride it yesterday (cold, windy, and rainy). The valve stem was damaged. The replacement tube had a hole. I patched the hole, put everything back together and..... I noticed a broken spoke.

I rode my single-speed DF in the nasty weather. The 'bent is still unridden. I'll be hauling the wheel to get it fixed soon.

I actually considered riding in Cherokee Park tomorrow but that area tends to ice over easily. I may just tootle close to home so I can bail if the weather gets to me.

It will be 50 and sunny for the Saturday Yellow lot ride. I'm going to give the 34 mile version a try if my legs feel up to it. I'll be the one on the canary yellow Giro crashing into stuff.

I met up with Tom at the Car-Free Happy Hour on Wednesday. We talked about you.

I'll be dropping my Agio's wheel off to him after work today (I'm hauling it on my Big Dummy). I'm considering the Yellow Lot ride, but I also want to go to the farmer's market... decisions, decisions. If I do show, I'll either be on my single-speed or my Big Dummy.

Out of about 30 riders I was the only one there ready for the Zombie Apocalypse. I rode in AB's group for awhile and had no problem keeping up. Swinging back into downtown I got behind some ladies who were heading in the wrong direction and I got separated. I ended up riding the length of 4th Street by myself, which was cool downtown and a royal PITA the more south I went. Finally met a few riders at Iroquois.

I like the 'bent. I did 29 miles, my longest ride on it to date (I did not go up to the top as I had no idea where everyone was at the time).

BTW, a club member made my day. She rode up to me, asking, "Um, what is the point of that bike?" My zen spoke, "There is no point to my bike, nor yours. Do not be troubled by worldly attachments". I sense she was not impressed.

Strange that you got a comment like that. The LBC has a number of 'bent riders. My wheel is fixed, I need to pick it up tomorrow. Then I'll commute on the 'bent some next week.

That's what I thought, especially given Armstrong and Preble's involvement. What's cool is that I could hear little kids saying, "Look at that bike, it's cool!"

Speaking of Armstrong, I picked up my rear wheel that he fixed for me. That did mean a rainy ride out Westport Rd to his house in Lyndon. I'm glad I didn't have to ride all the way out to Crestwood.

Anyway, I'm riding the 'bent to work tomorrow.

Yes, I ride about 5000 miles per year. He rides close to 8000. It's slightly embarrassing.

I did ride the 'bent to work today. Something keeps rattling. Gotta figure out what that is.
