Barely safe to view at work...

I sold my 72 chrome Paramount, an 88 Rossin, and my custom build ruby muscle (bannana seat) bike among dozens of other items to pay for my trike. I've been saving since spring and waiting all summer. Now the FFR 411R will be shipped next week. A recumbent has been on my bucket list for some time and a trike seems the way to go. This one also fills the need for thrills. This pic is my (almost completed) trike, not a model.

Am I reading this thread correctly? The 411R FFR is electric-assist and you're planning on racing it? Is there a separate class for power-assist?

While I can sort of understand the concept of auxilliary power on a commuter vehicle or for some other utilitarian purpose, it's utterly ridiculous to pretend it's an HPV and that it can hold any sort of cycling record against purely human-power. It may look like a recumbent trike but it's a motorized cycle. 2800 watts? Why not just get a Honda 750 and you can really tear up the course?

Pavement ripping power ..................that's what attracted me to bicycling. Too bad there's no exhaust muffler to remove.

Exactly. Something wrong here......

AFAIK, there's no class for "power assist/e-bike"

Edit: What hubs are those?

Well, we did have races for E-assist bikes at the Human Power Challenge for a couple years. Pretty interesting, but tough to regulate. (Unintentional pun.) How much assist do you allow?

They died when the spark behind them spent all his time putting together the ROAM Velomobile tour.
