RANS Tailwind versus Sun EZ Sport CX

I have the TW now, and the seat is killing me with the metal on back of bottom. Got a chance to trade it for a EZ Sport CX. I would get a more comfortable seat and a 26 rear wheel versus the 20 on the TW. Would it be a mistake to trade?

Price-wise the two would be in sight of each other. The RANS is lighter, though. I guess as long as you're not climbing a lot of hills, if the CX is more comfy go for it.

As a former Tailwind owner, keep it. You might want to get the newer seatback. It has velcro straps that work to keep the seat cover much tighter than the old buckles did.

I own a few recumbents and many upright bikes, including an EZ Sport CX. They all ride diferently.

Quality wise I believe both the TW and the EZ Sport are comparable, which leaves comfort and asthetics...both very personal decisions. I suggest you ride both and keep the one you like the best.

Rydabent,
Curious as to why you say keep the tailwind, when you used to own one, but don't anymore. Could you elaborate please?
Thanks to all for your comments.

The Tailwind was a great bike. I now ride a RANS Stratus since it has room for a trunk pack on a carrier. I like to take my "mini bike shop" with me.

Nice upgrade!! I would consider the Stratus as a higher end machine than a Tail Wind and an EZ Sport.

An EZ Sport, by the way, will handle a rear rack and trunk quite nicely....in case anyone was wondering.
