Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

Interesting contraption..

But the Modern Tadpole has It beat on all points I would think.

Still,
I would like to see someone over at Atomic (https://forum.atomiczombie.com/content.php) build one with modern cro mo or aluminum and front brakes...

Nice wheel base for comfort and cargo load on long rides,
If It could be built around 40 Lbs,,,

IIRC they're quite fast but not really "road worthy"

I rode one back when we were designing the original Aerocoupes. Very flexible frame- it would twist a bunch in a hard corner, at least until it went up on two wheels, which was easy because the center of gravity was so high and so far back. The single disk brake was adequate only for producing heat. The sling seat had no adjustment.

Give me a modern recumbent trike any day.
