Sun EZ Sport.....

Is there an sx and ax? What are the differences and what would be the average price for each used and in very nice condition? Thanks...

For Sun bikes/trikes, ax generally means aluminum frame. Sun owners/experts can chime in with other differences.

I have the Sun Easy Sport LE (now called the AX for aluminum). The AX weighs about 35 pounds, the CX (chromoly) weighs about 40 pounds.
You can find nice used ones in good shape on Craigslist for as low as $400. Brand new expect to pay $1100 or more.
The hard part is finding one near you. Most sellers aren't real keen on shipping these LWB (Long Wheel Base) bikes.

Good luck!

If it's like their other models, AX is their high-end aluminum frame, CX is midrange chromoly, SX is low-end mild steel frame. Components were chosen to match frame quality levels.

Ooops. My bad.

duopar's response caused me to do some deeper research and I believe that the EZ Sport came as either a CX (chromoly) or AX (aluminum), perhaps some model years also offered an SX though. My memory just ain't what I remember it as once having been.

I happen to own a CX, it's a very fine machine.

Now if you will please excuse me, I'll crawl back into hibernation before I muddy the waters even more...

Yeup,,dead on the mark..........

I've owned the Sun EZ-1 SX and still Own the EZ-3 SX,,,both steel, very strong and the weight matters not to me, I just got stronger,,
I'm a flatlander tho so no real mountains to climb down here In Florida...

My EZ-1 sx was 40 Lbs, The EZ-3 is 55 I think,,rides just fine.
My New love, My Tour Easy has a 36 Lb base,,extras make It 40.
The Tour easy Is way way faster than the EZ-1 due to design, rear wheel size and tire pressures.
If I lived up north and rode hard in the cold and was a big boy or carried stuff I'd want Cro-mo or steel over Aluminum..

I have never been on the EZ Sport,,altho I have ridden with a Sport rider.
Thats a fine lookin bike IMO, Nice high seat, low crank, Great Veiw from the Saddle, relaxed handling....

My Like NEW EZ-1 SX that was 7 years old recently sold for $550,,,when new it was $500,,a New model EZ-1 AX today
sells for $800 I think,,no more steel made..
I would estimate a perfect condition like new Aluminum EZ Sport would go for $650-$850,,New ones I think are $1100
Like new LWB recumbents Under $1,000 are hard to find...

From what I've seen well used LWB's that need TLC to get back In shape are often over priced, as In after all
repairs and upgrades new would have been better...

Actually, my bad. The SX is high-tensile, still cheap but not as heavy as department store mild steel.
