LWB design to mount on narrow hitch mount rack

I have a home built LWB ala Tour Easy which I thought was always too wide for a hitch mount rack mounted behind a Honda fit. I could extend the arms past the mirror width but it will be too wide and might clip pedestrians.

As luck would have it, the homebuilt has a pivoting rear triangle. It just occured to me that I can partially fold it and still use the rack within the legal width. Just did a 200+ mile trip and the rack/bike held up well. Will be building an upright tandem soon and will do a similar pivoting rear triangle so I can mount it on the same rack.

Hope this helps somebody thinking of doing a long homebuilt and having transport problems
