Bike computer-damaged wire

I was wondering if it is possible to replace a wire on a bike computer. Someone cut mine about 2 inches from the computer and stole the wire and sensor. Not sure why. They didnt take the whole computer.

Anyway is it possible to replace the wire or should I just get a new computer?

Google '(your bike computer's brand and model) + mount and sensor' to see what's available. I've seen them for under $10. If your computer is worth significantly more than that, and you can find the mount kit, you should consider it.

+1 just get a new mounting kit.

For what most bike computers cost, it would probably be more efficient to just get a new one. Sensors are hard to come by, orand to find one for your particular computer may be more hassle than it's worth.

1. Replacement wire harnesses, complete with a new sensor, are available for many computers. Considering the low cost for the most basic wired bike computers, this option might not be cost effective. Hostel Shoppe has extra long wire harnesses, that you might find more appropriate for recumbent use, listed for several common computer brands.

2. I've extended the sensor wire for several computers by soldering in a section of speaker wire. You'll still need a sensor to replace the one that you said was stolen.
