Need help with seat

I just got my sister to start riding and she is a big lady. I found her an OLD (built like a tank) trike. Being a big lady she has fears of the little tiny seat. I saw an ad for a seat that was built around a large metal frame (back and sides) and had a canvas seat stretched over the metal. The seat I saw was maybe 24 to 30 inches wide and 18 to 24 inches front to back. At the time I thought that was neat and if some people saw this they might take the plunge to start biking because the thought of the tiny seats scared them. Unfortunately I don't remember where I saw it and/or who made it. If anyone knows what I'm asking about please send me a link if you would.

There are a couple of bike shops that deal with DIY recumbent builders. Go to the following sites and take a look at what they have available:

Mark Powers at Power On Cycling http://poweroncycling.com/product-li...nt-seats-1038/

Gaerlan Custom Cycles http://www.gaerlan.com/bikeparts/parts/seats/seat.html

Another option is a seat from Recycled Recumbents, if you can adapt it to the trike frame. You could probably even have a custom seat made by Mr. Carson if necessary, or make one yourself.

I dont think there is any way I could remodel the trike to fit the recumbent seats. But they do look interesting, I have been running my actionbent and have not ridden my other bikes at all since I got this. Today I thought I might take one of the regular bikes out for a ride, I sat on the seat and ouch, I put it back into the shed and grabbed the bent and went to the store that way.

You could always get a large 'comfort' saddle from someplace. This one is in the Nashbar online catalog.
