Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

Recumbent or Velomobile strava/garmin pages?

I'd really like to get a recumbent or velomobile someday. I'm interested in their speeds. If anyone can post a strava or garmin link to rides using a recumbent or velomobile, i'd like to see them, and get an idea of their performance.

thanks!

Sorry, I'm not connected enough to use Strava or Garmin. I just ride. Although I did find this via a Google search. Where do you live and what kind of numbers are you seeing now on an upright?

I don't know if this helps, but here's me, riding into a light wind at 21-23 mph and being passed by my buddy. Flat ground. Last year he did a chip-timed century in 3:49. I figure it takes a mile of 6% before the weight liability overcomes his aero advantage.

There has been some posts over on BentRider Online by Strava users. Maybe do a search there?

There was a recent thread on bentrider where the OP was complaining about Strava, as they refused to allow him to post anymore in the competitive sections as they felt his recumbent gave him an unfair advantage...

It seems that the issues with Strava and recumbents has been resolved in the favour of the dark side.
