V3 as of today.
Two Velocity wheels have replaced the stock Jet Set pair: Thracian on the front and, more recently, a Heater on the rear. Both with Aeroheat rims. Wasn't sure about putting a 24-spoke wheel on the back (I flirt with 200 pounds and the roads ain't like glass around here) so went with the 32 spoke Heater.

Don't worry about the low spoke counts on the Velocity wheels, Jan. I'm over 200 and I've been running them for years. In fact, the Thracians on my Baron have seen two frames break without so much as a loose spoke.

I hover around 210lbs and my rear Thracian broke (a segment of the rear hub, drive side spoke area, simply fractured off) last year. It started to make a "crinking" noise, thinking it was my chain or rear derailleur. Then when offloading my recumbent from my car for an organized bicycle tour, I noticed that some of the rear spokes were dangling from the rim ... so it must have snapped apart during transport, whew!!!

Either way, Velocity was quick to replace the rear wheel and even let me choose a different model w/36H count (to mend my paranoia). They didn't even ask for the hub/wheel to be sent back to them, though I emailed velocity pictures of the hub anyway. Most excellent customer service as the new rear wheel arrived a week later.

The front-end of your Falcon has some very aggressive looking design elements to it. Thanks for posting pics of your LWB.

Ugh, should have made these pics smaller. Sorry for the "full page ad" size there...

Its a tough aluminum frame, I need it for the unpaved roads. I'm thinking that lower pressure BMX tires would be better for around here but cringe at the performance in town.

Okay, I'm falling for the bait. What's with the Nebuta warrior? Be careful not to ride this flag through the land of Aomori or you'll have Neputas chasing you ;-)
Great looking recumbent and trailing banner. Chilled saké in the water bottle?

We bought this barely used Terratrike and my wife LOVES it! Actually we love it. Even as a bike lover I always thought the price was out of reach. But the price was right on this one, and if I had known how much we would enjoy it I would have bought one years ago!

My Ryan Vangaurd

Here is a photo of my Ryan Vanguard. Unknown year. I just pulled it out of dry dock this weekend and getting it ramped to use again. I had it stored for 14 years in my garage. I had purchased it used a few years before that. Held up amazingly well.

I just put new tires, tubes, lubed it up, etc..

Plan on commuting to work as much as possible. Four mile one way trip.

Question for Brumskee

Aloha, Brumskee,

2 great looking bikes you have there.

You've switched FROM a Ti-Rush TO a Bacchetta Aero? Would you please explain why?

I ask because I have an Aero Basso (just like yours except with a 20" front wheel), and plan to switch TO a Ti-Rush. (I also ride a Tour Easy). I realize some people prefer the SWB format. Just so happens I prefer the LWB, even though it may not be the fastest. Speed isn't everything to me.

Mahalo!

My rides:

2005 Anthrotech trike (German), fitted with a 1986-ish Leitra velomobile cover (Danish). Great all-round city trike, and has served me well on several long-distance (+1000 km) tours in the last 4 years:

Next is the same trike as above, converted into a cycle-taxi, which I drive almost daily in Copenhagen, Denmark:

New ride: 2010 Steintrike Nomad (Austrian), with a 2011 Wildcat nose fairing I built under the watchful eyes of Carl Georg Rasmussen from Leitra (Danish), giving me the comfort of year-'round riding. This is my daily commuter and current long distance touring cycle:
