My favorite BENT picture website
belongs to some fellow who has pictues of Joe Kochanowski's Homebuilt Bents Here is a picture of Joe on his MOBY BENt. http://tinyurl.com/df7b8 And here is the homepage for all his bicycle stuff. His WORKSHOP is something to see in and of itself. http://www.outsideconnection.com/gallant/hpv/joe/ For a real kick, watch Joe's movie of knocking over a series of trash cans with his giant bent. I heard Joe had an accident in traffic on his MOBY about a year ago but last I heard he had recovered ok. This guy is a real inspiration to me in that he makes all his own bikes and I couldn't make one if I tried, honestly! Ned 'Store Bought Bikes for ME' Goudy |

Here I am, summitting Carson Pass, last of the 5 pass Markleeville Death Ride 2005. Still smiling after 15,000 ft of climbing. 3rd year for the Aero. Better time each year.

Here's my long awaited Bachetta Giro26. All fairly standard, but a beaut nonetheless.

Here is a pic of my newly completed FWD Cruzbike. Ride is sweet and a LOT of fun! Gets the "double take look" often, especially when people realize what wheel the chain is driving.
Sorry for the PQ, I need to get a host or something... :) |

Hi all. Im new here. Lots of interesting trikes to look at :) .
Heres my home-built called "Wheelchair". Its aluminium tube, bar the rear drop-out which is off a steel BMX frame, joined together with kevlar and carbon-fibre. 20" wheels, oldschool 105 rear hub and disc brake front hubs minus the discs. Steering is push pull steering, tie rod at the front, seat is aluminium sheet (1.6mm). Im running a single chainring (52t) and 13-23 cluster. This thing is my trainer and i ride it an hour a night. Due to the crap gearing, top speed is limited to 40km/h :( Dought i hav the brakes to risk going any faster anyway :D In the jig, cross-member, boomtube n spine http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/3134/p13000168nh.jpg A kingpin http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/9866/p10101686km.jpg A seat, which is also steel (19mm daimeter) http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/1633/p10100728ht.jpg Wheelchair with its shoes on http://img421.imageshack.us/img421/9797/p31000469gh.jpg Completed Product http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/9...03596jr.th.jpg Myself standing next to it. I think it sits quite low considering its ground clearence (70mm front, 110+ rear) http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/929...rnme2jo.th.jpg Oh and heres the last trike i raced in, called T-Bone. Ive done 4 24hr races since 2002 with general success. http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/7632/tbone2vs.th.jpg And finally, the 1st trike i made called "Mullet" . It was totally impractical and fell apart once a month...i guess bronze-welding will do that though :D . It was a demon steerer though ;) http://img427.imageshack.us/img427/5...llet1dd.th.jpg Hope youse like em ;) |
Wheelchairman:
Your trike is very good! |

http://members.westnet.com.au/rjharr...ge2/artic2.jpg OMG. That is me in the front on this picture, I am not joking. What a coincidence. I know that bike is really bad. I can tell you the background on it. Over here in south Australia we have a race called the Australian International Pedal Prix. In 1999 I raced that bike in a team of 11 for 24 hours. I was in year 8. I actually helped build it. My tech teacher designed it. Dont get me wrong, I know its not a good bike, we came second to last out of 128 teams. I cant believe I found a picture of myself just clicking around on the internet. This is the trike that I designed, built and raced with a team of 7 for our 2005 race last year. We finished 5 out of about 130 in a 6 hour event. We built this trike on a $500 Australian budget, very very cheap trike. Max speed of around 60km\h, cruise 45-50 Km\h. http://home.iprimus.com.au/sutton6/trike2.JPG |
Wheelchairman: Your trike is very good! @JWSJSS. Hey there :) . U aint racing Murry Bridge this year in September are u? Im in a team right now and we're building from scratch as we speak. If u are going, look out for the "Vector" style canopy ;) Your "Team Bluebird" trike, it looks very Bendigo Youth Racing (BYR). Nose cone shape, outer rollbar and pumped-out fenders etc. Do u know of BYR? Did u race em in 03-04? I love those guys...Bendigo recumbent community's home town heros :D |
