Enclosed pic of my new Rans Force5 XL High Racer. Have only 300 miles on it so far, but love the riding position, the ease of shifting and the awesome stopping power of the disk brakes. I gotta tell you all, it's going to be a tough decision, if I ever go to upgrade from my Bike E. |
I've been building a quad recumbent over that past six months. I've mated two 20" bmx bikes with full suspension. This has been a work in progress. I'm a big guy so I couldn't build a two wheel and I wasn't sure a three wheel would work. This is a low budget build so I get a lot of parts from the local thrift stores and what I can build myself. The local Northern Tool and Equipment store has been a big source for my parts.
Here's the link to my blog for the bike. http://quadrecumbent.blogspot.com |

for power, use 8xAA NiMH rechargeable batteries in a battery holder that has a corresponding 9V connector on one end for best results, use one pack per 12" neon. |
Hallo, I want to post the image of my bike from my album but I can't.

Here is my bike in Carrara Alps. Thanks wheelchairman |
TRSNTR, I hope you realized what you've done by posting a picture of such a beautiful bike. You've poisoned my mind! I'm trying to work out a clone, but can't seem to find any pictures tight enough sans seat or other crap that gets in the way of the from so that I can work out all the angles. My buddy has some titanium scrap at his welding shop that are of lenghts between 3' and 5' in 2" tubing that is pretty stout. I'd be fine with steel or aluminium, but free titanium. Who am I to say no?
How is it to ride in traffic? I live in a tiny apartment with 3 other college students(2 girls and another guy) and all of them think my fetish with these lovely bikes and my AB USS is bizarre. I don't know how they'd feel about a polished titanium lowracer sitting in the kitchen(where we keep our bikes, linolium floor). But I don't care! I have most of the components and ideas on wheels, I think tri spokes would be cool if I could find a cheap ish pair, but I don't think that is gonna happen. |

check out vibelights.com they have EL WIRE kits for cheap. It's flexy, water proof, and it lights up really bright. I'm going to loop some around my whole frame when I get paid next. Should cost about 25 bucks and make me super visible at night time.

Cool deal. It is a different effect than the EL wire to be sure. I think those GEs would be better for visibility too now that I think about it.

My first trike:
http://fleettrikes.com/trike%202%20fenders%20sm.jpg I wanted something a little lighter, lower and faster, so this was my 2nd: http://fleettrikes.com/mk3%20rack%20...dle%20bags.jpg A great trike, but I wanted something a little faster still, and lower: http://fleettrikes.com/mk4%20rack%20...dle%20bags.jpg Then I needed something for some ice races held every year: http://fleettrikes.com/ice%20trike%20lg.jpg Then tried my hand at a 2 wheel, mid steered, FWD low racer after I sold my purple trike: http://fleettrikes.com/python%20fina...%20drilled.jpg I wanted something a little more stable on down-hills, sold the python and wanted to come up with a way to use up some DF bikes I had, so I made this commuter: http://fleettrikes.com/high%20racer%...conversion.jpg And lastly the '06 Speed, which I use alternately with the high racer for commuting duties: http://fleettrikes.com/cs618%20with%20fenders.jpg |
