Tandem Recumbent: where do I belong?
Newbie posting here. I now have my dream bike, a Rans Screamer tandem. But I have a lot of questions. I'm having trouble finding other TR people. Our goal is self contained touring. Should I be asking you recumbent people my questions or the tandem people? Where will I feel the love?

The Recumbent Quant
You're very welcome here (I'd also recommend Bent Riders Online which has a tandem section).
I see no problem posting both here and in the tandem section. Both accepting groups.

Hi Screamerman: Congrats on the new Rans Screamer. I have a disabled 18 year old son and all his movement and shifting on the back of our KHS tandem makes it difficult to control. We would love a Screamer but the cost seems prohibitive. Hopefully a used one will pop up one day for us. Did you end up with a new or used one? Any pics for us???!

A tandem recumbent? Oh the horror!
Wait, you mean something like this?
That's my wife and I's Rans Seavo and it is a blast to ride. We had a few "challenges" building the bike and getting everything just right. Now that we're done though, it's a blast to ride.
Wander over to my blog in my sig line, there are a few write ups about the Seavo...

For 'self contained touring' you may be interested in an underseat rack (We don't have one): Rans Racks : TerraCycle, Exquisite Recumbent Parts & Accessories
Plus a RANS rear rack, if there is not one already on your bike: REAR RACK ASSEMBLY (RECUMBENTS) (We use one.)
