Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

Real recumbent vs. recumbent racing speeds

Here are confirmed speeds for the fastest recumbent racers recorded at the Northbrook velodrome in 2003. No "smoking roadies" baloney speeds here.

The time for the 50 and 100 lap race in 2003 for Northbrook was the fastest ever.
100 lap time 40:07.86 - 35.58 MPH Ave. Warren Beauchamp Streamliner
50 lap time - 25:10.351 - 28.36 MPH Ave. * Rick Gritters Stock
Kilo 1:08.24 1997 Sean Costin Streamliner
Kilo 1:09.06 2002 Frank Geyer Stock

Time for the "roadie smokin" bent talkers with racing recumbents to show up and race instead of telling whimsical riding tales about going fast.
