The Halloween High Heel Race, held the Tuesday before Halloween, is one of the wildest and most colorful events in Washington. Drag queens dressed in everything from ball gowns to bee costumes strut down 17th Street in the heart of Dupont Circle for this festive Halloween event. After about an hour of parading, the race begins. The "ladies" run less than three blocks in their high heels before the night turns into a gigantic post-race street party
though i've also heard it occurs at the convention center.......
