hey get on this too. (vote yes)
PHILADELPHIA WILL VOTE On Election Day (Tuesday, May 15th), every Philadelphian will have an opportunity to vote on whether to keep casinos 1500 feet from schools, places of worship, parks and homes. But it won't be in the voting booth. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court placed an injunction on the city removing Question #1 from the ballot, so we've created our own citizens' election process. We're giving Philadelphia three ways to vote on Tuesday, May 15th: securely online at http://ent.groundspring.org/EmailNow...4797&u=1358845 or via voter hotline at 215-925-6380; or at a polling place near you (visit http://ent.groundspring.org/EmailNow...4797&u=1358846 to find the closest voting location) Legislation introduced in City Council is awaiting the result of the citizens election. And at least one ballot box has been placed in every state representative's district, along with other high-traffic locations throughout the city, to let them know what their constituency wants. Find your nearest ballot box and get more information at: http://ent.groundspring.org/EmailNow...4797&u=1358847 Warmly, - Philly's Ballot Box ps: If you want to be reminded about the vote on May 15th, go to http://ent.groundspring.org/EmailNow...4797&u=1358848 pps: If you want to support this cause, organized by Casino-Free Philadelphia, please go here to donate. |

Me too. What a nice excuse to skip out of work at 10:45 and breeze around on my bike: Civic Duty. Dane, I voted online for that bike-related jammy.

does anybody have any spare parts they're willing to donate to a ss build for Siobhan' first bike? i'm sort of secretly building a bike for her. (sort of secretly because i'm not hiding the bike or the fact that i'm working on it but i haven't told her it's for her)
i wanted to build up this really cool old Schwinn Varsity but a) it's sooo heavy and b) the fork won't take normal modern axles and i don't want to get into modifying it. so next best thing available is a "Free Spirit" (Sears) we had lying around. it's about a 52cm seat tube which should be a decent fit i think. i know it's not the awesomest frame but it'll have to do to start with because, hell, it was free. bits i am looking for: - saddle - cartridge bb - ashtabula to cartridge bb converter (i don't expect anyone to have one of thses. i'll probably just buy one) - crankset & chainring (what's good to learn with? ~42/16? see next point re: cog) - i'm planning on donating a wheelset with a 16t freewheel to the build at least for the time being unless somebody has a wheelset or freewheel they really want to get rid of - bmx type brake levers - brake cable housing obviously don't mention this to Shiv. Thanks. |
