i say $2 for the riders and $10 for the racers.
It seems strange to have a middle cash prize, how much would they win if they beat a person who threw down $10? If you just have $10 and $2 I think there should be enough cash for prizes.
Me personally am going to do the $2 deal and have a good time with it.

I plan on racing and not winning, I'll throw in whatever.
Seriously, I got lost enough times to quit last night, let me have one race where I know how to get where I'm going!!

warrant, you at least made it to the afterparty, right? Couldn't miss the forty bikers hanging outside Zuzu. And wrestling, and drinking, and dancing. Was a sight to behold.

i like it... for those of you who want to race... race and pay $5 to register... for those of you who want a nice relaxing paceline... do it and pay $5 to register.
I'll time everyone and we'll wait for everyone at the finish line. as long as you don't take 6 hours.
work for you?

works for me... but at 6 hours I think we might wanna check that someone didn't get flattened by an 18 wheeler
Even with a flat and a stop for water I don't think 45-50 miles should take any of us 6 hours...
~ugh I shouldn't talk **** though, cus I say this **** now and then watch I'll be the kid that takes all damn day...
I'm excitied about this ****, can't wait...

I want to race this ****. I don't give a **** about entry fees.
Either way you push, there's no way that everyone would be comfortable going the same pace, so I say race.

Alright it official.
Racers Race
Riders Ride
Riders leave 30 minutes before racers.
Entry Fee: $5
Starting line: Bookline Village (Pearl St)
Finish Line: Kennedy Plaza
returning home: Commuter Rail $6, bike friendly. (train schedual to me announced at finish line)
Direction: TBA
Rest stop: there will be a rest stop. I talked to my boss and he's going to send a street crew out there to set up a small table to hand out free drinks and snacks and will probably play some tunes as well. Location TBD
Sunday November 19th
Restration: 9:30 AM
start time: 10:00 AM
Cut off time at finish line: 3:00 PM
sounds gay, but we're going to set up a buddy system for the riders to make sure we dont leave anyone beind. which means, no one leaves with out letting someone else who is finishing know you're leaving. I don't want to have to set up a seach and rescue team.
the name of the race will have to do something with the fact that columbus discovered purto rico on this day some 500 years ago and lincoln gave the gettysburg address 200 hundred some odd years ago. so something historic, something along the lines of an expedition. like the oregon trail.

damn, if we leave at different times I can't claim that I was just "riding" to cover for my poor race performance....

when you regester you'll regester as a racer or a rider. riders can not change to racing. racers can however change to riding. though you'll still be placed as a racer.

true that. if a fixie wins, fixie gets all.
Maybe this race should be called Pillars of Hercules. Because it is a endurance test which brings a mortal into the realm of the gods.
