Either way, I'll be at a barbecue/birthday party earlier in the day, so I'll be at least partially lubricated before I get to the starting line. A lock, a few bucks, and excellent navigational skills are a must. Devil-may-care attitude about traffic necessary for placing high in the pack.

To reiterate, because everyone's been asking...
You'll need :
A lock.
A bike.
A phone.
$5.
That's all. No bag needed. I'm providing your writing utensils as well.
See you at Encanto Park. You can get it going as early as 8:00 to prep.

You all made it happen.
Our first alleycat went off huge.
Here's the rundown.
37 racers.
Top three :
1.) Bill - who walked with a nice French lugged frame.
2.) Mike - $50 to spend @ Domenic's.
3.) Keith - got a sweet ass Thomson stem that he can't use.
Trackstand :
Kelly - Ladies first! Took home a set of Nitto bullhorns and a few pairs of grips and tape.
Skid :
James - My homey from back home. Way to kill it son. Got a new set of tires.
Thanks to all who came out... w/o you guys, this **** wouldn't have been... well... ****.
Thanks also to Domenic's who not only put up most of our prizes, but also keep us sorted with what we need to keep on the road... in addition, Kronik Energy Drinks who supplied the whole night with tasty beverages.
Let's do it again...

I feel like crying right now. On the way to the race, I got hit, right from behind on 7th ave and Osborn. Rear wheel is being fixed at slippery pigs as I type. A total bummer. I hope you all had enough fun to make up for how sad I was haha.
When's the next one.

That thing was hella fun, and I'm not just saying that cos I made second place.
I know Ben's always trying to get something going as far as a scene here in Hot City, and I just want to say one word, something that occurred to me after the race the other night, as we were setting up the skid competition:
Sprints.
Like, we should find a short loop, or a nice long straight stretch of road, preferably someplace free of traffic lights (and, um, traffic), and set up a sprint series. Chicago style, you know.
Thoughts?

That was soooo much fun! Hats off to Ben for putting together an awesome event. Nicely done.
Also personal thanks to "Team Toptube" for being so kind as to let the new old guy sit on the entire night. Way to be.
+1 on sprints.

Phoenix - 03/04/07
Fixed gear oriented... but not limited to...
Mid/late afternoon group ride. Phoenix area (Downtown/Central).
Finish : Food. Flatland stuff. Sprints. General messing about.
I want to do a monthly event here. Let's get it going.
Ben
ps. Please spread the word to everyone you know.
pps. Also of note... the Tempe collective has started a bike co-op that operates on Sundays.
