7th annual R.E. Load April Fools Race (april 14th)
hey all-
it's getting close to that time of year again: the annual april fools race in philly! since easter is the first weekend in april, we're gonna be doing it on saturday, april 14th. the start time will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 3pm to allow for all the out-of-towners. also so we can flow directly from race to afterparty...
this is a really short, preliminary posting, but just to let you know, it's gonna once again be bigger than ever...we have a bunch of sponsors lined up, tons of beer, dj's, and our usual "out-of-towner-friendly" and chaotic race course lined up. this race is really fun for everybody, whether you're trying to go fast and win, or if you're just trying to hang out and hit a couple of bars.
as always, entry fee will be a mere $5, and will get you a free t-shirt and access to the party. we'll be giving prizes really deep, and will have a number of random prizes, so if you're slow or run into bad luck, you still might get something!
the day after the race, Lex will be running the first annual Bling-out Bike Parade. so shine up your whip and get ready to roll around the city all draped up. he'll most likely have a well-stocked brr-beque to go along with that as well.
ok, we'll be posting more closer to the date of the race, so i hope y'all have the weekend open.
see ya

I'll make the pilgrimage from teh PGH. If anyone wants a ride/owns a car larger than a 1994 Honda Accord or a car with a bike rack, PM me.
Be prepared to stop at Tria for beer/wine/cheese, though.

A Tria fan! That place is great, my girl worked there a couple of years ago. If you're coming for the race, I'll meet ya there for some fancy beer. None of the low-class mugs in Team Hip Pack appreciate the finer things in life, they're all cheap beer and pretzels. Haha

You guys and your loyalty to cheap beer. Pbbbffffftttt. I've been saving all the money I would have spent buying beer this whole time, and now I demand only the best. Smell you later, 40 drinkers. Let it be known that Team Hip Pack drinks hipster beer. I can't associate.

Ok ok. I give up. You guys are cool, I'm not gonna ditch you simply for your beer choice. As for me:
"I buy the gourmet expensive stuff 'cause when I drink it, I wanna taste it."

Hell yes for Tria. I love that place.
And as for drinking good beer for cheep, just homebrew the stuff. I'll bring some homebrew to Filthadelphia.
I'm going to be showing up with at least 1 other person from this side of the state, hopefully more.
