Jax Fl Alleycat Feb 10
Chris and I have devised an Alleycat for Feb. 10th (Saturday).
Feb. 9th TSI will have Airport Factory and Barnacles
Barnacles will bring Gainesville riders....
The way it will work is the stops are prelisted and any path can be taken, but there is an order to the checkpoints.

There will be a party after the race @ Chris’.
You are responsible for collecting individual flyers at each point.

It would have to be the weekend that my gf's best friend is coming to Tallahassee from Jax. Talk about bad luck...

Why are you giving out the checkpoints, in order, in advance? Do you want to intentionally level the playing field?

Jacksonville is a monstrously large city. I think it'll help to avoid getting lost in the middle of a rough sector; even with the maps printed out ahead of time it's still a royal pain to find the locations

Word. We had a killer time in December despite the conditions.
This is a crazy busy month for me at work, but if some folks want to share rides from Tampa/St Pete, I'd be willing to make the trek.

Not sure on this one Robb. I need to figure some things out. I'd love to support the crew in Jax because I know they'll come through for us when we do ours.
Matt and Chris seem like they threw this together quite nicely for everyone. I'll know my schedule better in a few days.
Is Luke dead?

there is a detour to forest street. instead of taking a left onto forest if you had planned, take a left on price (one block down) then you will be headed to the myrtle tunnel....if that's your plan.?.?

Thursday night during Midnight Mass we are planning to run the route if weather permits. We meet at the Cummer Museum (Riverside Ave & Post St) at 11:45 and ride out at midnight.

Matt...sorry brother, but I'm not going to be able to make it up for the race. I hope you have a huge group show up anyway and it goes off well. My bike is in pieces at the moment and some things came up out here that I need to take care of. I'll make it up to you and the Jax crew when we finally get our race together down here. Have fun and bomb the bridges for me!

At each checkpoint you are just supposed to collect a paper, but there are some stops where climbing is required.
We still have a strong number of riders both from in and out of town racing, so if you are still considering, do make the drive, it will be worth your time.
Sad to here you can't make it Todd, keep me updated on the St. Pete race. Also, we are thinking about trekking over to Gainesville for a drunk ride and possibly the Tally Valentines Race.
Last night @ Midnight Mass 31 people showed to ride the race route.

This race was far more amazing than Chris or I expected. The highlights were the Best Choice Store (convenient store) stop, running inside while a few customers were paying for items stood stunned at the mass of bikers running in and out. The best stop of all I and many others thought was the 1st, 5 points light, a light in center of a 5 way intersection. The manifest was atop the light, everyone, 26 people, threw their bikes down in the intersection to climb on the street mounted light stopping all traffic and again with jaws dropped and faces of confusion. Also we had a dash to the bikes in the park which worked out well and was hard for me after shotgunning a beer and chasing with chugging another then sprinting. After the race we drank some more and had burrito gallery for lunch, then back to the bar. The prizes: grand-$20 bar tab at shantytown. Others-random parts from pedals, bar wrap, clipless pedals, bar grips....

2 Tie- Parker (gainesville) (barnacles) & Logan (orlando)
3 Davey
4 Chris
5 Me
6 Cris Wise (gainesville) (barnacles)
7 Chad
8 Group of Uglies...
Thank You to everyone who came out, even the ones who did not finish. It proved the route was not terribly easy and still competitive. Keep your eyes open for the next one, sometime when it's warm and slip and slides are fitting.
